Cue our favorite creepy whooshing sound, because ABC has confirmed the premiere date for the fifth season of Lost, and it’s Jan. 21.

Yep, that’s a Wednesday, and it’s where Lost — which last season aired Thursdays at 10 pm/ET, following Grey’s Anatomy — will stay.

More specifically, Lost’s regular time slot will be Wednesdays at 9 pm, though the new cycle will kick off with a three-hour event — a clip show followed by the first two episodes.

Last season, Lost saw its best-laid plans to air all of its episodes uninterrupted, à la 24, waylaid by the WGA strike. At this time, sources are unable to confirm if the 17-episode Season 5 will in fact pull off the straight-through feat.

Fox will premiere the first new regular episode of “24″ in nearly two years on Sunday, January 11, the network said Monday.

The seventh season of the real-time thriller will kick off with a two-hour episode, followed by another two-hour segment the next night. Fox used a similar rollout plan for 2007’s sixth season premiere in January 2007.

“Day Seven” opens with the Counter Terrorism Unit dismantled and federal agent Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) on trial. Bauer’s day takes an unexpected turn when former colleague Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard) returns after being presumed dead.

A two-hour prequel movie “24: Redemption” will give viewers a head start on the season when it airs on Sunday, November 23. The movie will feature Jon Voight, making his first series role in 40 years as Bauer’s latest uber-nemesis. The veteran actor will also be seen in subsequent regular episodes.

QUANTUM OF SOLACE continues the high octane adventures of James Bond (DANIEL CRAIG) in CASINO ROYALE.

“JCVD” is an action-packed, comedic satire of the life of movie hero Jean-Claude Van Damme (”Bloodsport,” “Universal Soldier”). Playing himself self-deprecatingly, Jean-Claude finds himself out of money, fighting for custody of his daughter and losing every good action role to Steven Seagal. In an attempt to escape, the aging star walks away from his shrinking spotlight and returns home to his native Brussels.

But when he is thrown into a real-life hostage situation, everyone sees a side of Van Damme they’ve never seen before as he takes on the police, battles the perpetrators and creates a media firestorm that captures the attention of the world.
