I´ve been very busy the last couple of days with some "real life" stuff, but it´s about time that we set up a schedule for our test races and to choose what tracks we want to use for them.
And I feel that it´s important that we test the mod at different kinds of tracks and we try to build some structure into them, defining the aim for every on-line test session, besides having fun driving.
I would for instance like to test these new set´s of tires that I´ve mentioned quite extensively to see if they will enhance the driving experiance and how they hold up in racing conditions.
It would of course be preferable if we use some different kinds of tracks to do that.
Oestereich70 and Calluster Spa88 are a couple of examples of two quite different tracks that would give us information of how these tires works both on high speed tracks with flowing corners and under hard braking, and both of them are really fun to drive too.
....
I would like to test the tires (under race conditions) on twisty tracks too, where some of us perhaps could use some of the slower cars too, to find out fast they are are on twisty track in relation to each other.
Zolder was fun, but the 79 version of it seams to be very FPS hungry and these cars are that too, and I think that might have been the cause to why my computer locked up there.
The 75 version of it doesn´t seam to be that FPS-hungry though, and as it´s a bit more bumpy it´s a bit more tricky to drive too which also makes it more fun to drive IMO.
But there are this slight problem of "quicksand" besides the track there. If you go of track into/in the chicanes there, the car might sink into the ground and if it does you´ll end up in the pits.
So I don´t really know if Zolder is the best choice of track to use, it´s fun though. And the Monaco75 track seams to have very low grip levels, and these cars doesn´t work that well on tracks which has that. We could perhaps use the MonteCarlo88 instead where you actually can push with these cars, but it´s very easy to end up in the armco´s there too.
Hungaroring88 might be an option as it´s fun to drive, very well made and very twisty too, and also have a couple of corners that demands hard braking. I totally destroyed the AI cars there (set at 110%) with the BRM while I was testing the physics btw.
Well, we´ll see, as Kimi Raikonnen use to say...
....
I would like you to give me some suggestions on which tracks to use and also which times that suites you. We seams to be mostly Europeans in the group but I think that we should try to set the times for our test races to make it possible for all the members of the group to join them.

Ps. I will post a couple links to some tracks we might/could be using a little bit later this evening. Ds

Here are a few links to some tracks that we could use during testing.
F1-75_TrackPack.rar containing 17 updated 1975 tracks.

File size: 258.42 MB
....
I suggest that we use Osterrichring70 and Zandvoort67 (if we´re to use those tracks), instead of Osterreichring75 and Zandvort75 which contain a lot of strange bumps and stuff and that aren´t very nice to drive.
Osterrichring70 and Zandvoort67 on the other hand are not only nice to drive, they are very well made too.

They actually started to use the chicane @ Woodcote already in 1975 but it´s not implemented to the Silverstone75 track for some reason, so I´ve Uploaded the Silverstone79 track for you.
Silverstone79 2.5 with enhanced graphics for rFactor.

The Calluster Spa88 is a really well made "drivers" track which contains a lot of different kind of corners taken at different speeds. It also has a lot of hard braking points

Hungaroring_88_V.1.1.rar

These last two track wasn´t of course not used during the 1975 season but they are both fun to drive and Hungaroring could be a good alternative choice to Zolder.

Edit: Filed removed.
I´ve once again been reminded that rF doesn´t work the same way as Gpl when it comes to renaming or the storing of option/test files
The copy & paste thingy does work, but rF are still using the default tire anyway as long as it´s stored somewhere in the F1-75 directory. Pretty much the same thing as happens when you try to use different PLR files. It doesn´t matter if you rename them by adding a _, Ex JC Case_.PLR or store them in another folder in UserData folder, rF will use the "old" one anyway.
The only way I´ve got to it to work was by storing the Test Tire folder in the Vehicles folder. As soon as I placed it somewhere among the F1-75 folders the default tire was used again even if I had replaced it by copy & paste.
...........
Anyways..
I´ve made a new Test tire with Soft, Medium and Hard options for you anyway. These options have the same basic´s but different optimal temperature settings to accommodate the different way tracks heat´s the tires.
I will upload them this afternoon, as soon as I´ve fixed the heat distribution over them.
I´ve also started to do some minor changes to the weight distribution and the camber settings in the HDV files due to the excellent Feedback from HauerPower and Fredrik which I also will upload to you later today.
