I had been working on my consistency before this race and I felt confident that I was in a position to achieve a good result when I was joining the Server, but due to my own fault this race become one of the hardest races I ever have driven.

I tried some new settings during Practice and found some more stability in the car which I could transform into pace and I set fast lap times consistently during the whole practice session leading up to the Qualy which boosted my confidence.

I got wide out of T1 on my first Qualy lap though but as you can see from the merged replay that Kiro so kindly uploaded for us, I didn´t gain any time by that on the contrary, I lost out by doing so. But the rest of that lap was really good and I set a lap time of 1:23.221 which earned me Pole.
...
When I had finished my Qualy I had a smoke and when I returned to my racing rig I found my cat behind my pedals. She´s not allowed to be there so she run away at once, but she must had touched the brake pressure button on my Clubsport pedals (it´s very sensitive) as they felt very heavy when I went out on track during the Warm Up. But as I had no time to start fiddle with that I just raised the brake pressure in the Garage from 96% to 102% instead which seemed to work although the pedal was still very heavy.
...
I made a so so start spinning my rears a bit too much but as Leo did an even worse one I could enter and exit T1 in the lead, a lead which I then could increase for each lap until lap 13.

As my brake pedal felt very heavy I struggled a bit on downshifts, locking up the rears due to too little braking power and under braking into T1 on lap 13 I got a tankslapper when I engaged 2 gear and while correcting.. I ripped my fookin´steering wheel off the table!

I could save the car but my wheel was detached and so was its FFB cable too. So I tried to attach it again which was kind of easy although I had to crawl in 2 gear and after T2 I managed to attach the FFB cable too which was a relief to say the least.

And I could re-group and start racing again, something that I couldn´t do at Kya when I got angry which was a conformation that my consistency practice during the week had payed off. But I could not tighten my wheel as hard as it needs to be using just one hand so the wheel was still loose and was sliding sideways each time that I turned it. And knowing that I had to drive at least 11 laps more like this before my planned pit stop I had to be very cautions.

But on lap 19 I almost ripped if off the table once again into the chicane, went up on the inside curb in the left hander and spun and as I had just lapped Apex, this was really bad as he was gonna show up in a few seconds. So I planted my right foot and did a 180 just in time for him to be able to pass me without having to take evasive action.

I could re-group once again and stretch my lead to Leo who was within 2s after that spin but I should have entered the pits a lap earlier then I did as my tires was almost dead and I nearly lost my car into the chicane on my In-lap and had to do some grass-tracking.
...
I could tighten my wheel and make sure that the FFB cable was properly attached during my planned pitstop but my lazy mechanics was slow.. I had no damage to my car and I yelled at them; -Come on, come on, come on, let me out of here FFS!!

Well knowing that Leo must be struggling on worn out tires as he had not pitted.

And after what felt like an eternity I finally got released from my pit box and floored it out of the pits just in time to avoid getting held up by a couple of already lapped drivers. I was very surprised to see that I still was in the lead with Sort in 2nd place about 15s behind me, and thought that that must be wrong so I pushed as hard as I dared too the following laps and set a string of really fast laps in an attempt to get my lead back from Leo who I thought must be in the lead for real.

It turned out that he had got a mechanical problem (I see PC probs like that) on my In-lap which was a shame because I´m certain that we would have been very close after his pit stop other vise, but it was a relief too to be honest.
...
I had extended my lead on my new Soft tires to about 25s when I came up upon Kabo and Apex who was fighting hard for positions and while closing on them I thought; -Hey JC, you do not wanna get involved in that scrap. So I backed off and cruised in "Prost-mode" the last 6 laps instead, which wasn´t all that easy as I was quite exhausted and it´s very easy to lose focus when you let up like that.

But all went well and I crossed the Finish line about 25s ahead of Sort who made it a Swedish 1-2 which was very nice to see. :viking:

thx LEO for the video report!

this was really an eventful race with a lot of overtaking as well. the video even compensates for HUNTs aborted race report (after lap 7) to some extent - thx HUNT anyway for the detailed story of the unfolding race.

a shame that the video didnt show JC ripping off his wheel from the table  (and surviving that :!: )
