Ray, that's my 4th Dremel.
Shifter works flawless, pilot needs work.
I think I could drive my car over it and it would still work.
I've been using the paddles for so long, I really have to get used to shifting again.
The Obutto cockpit didn't give enough options for me to get the G25 shifter into a usable spot.
Silvio had suggested I take a look at the SST shifter, since you can rotate it thru 360 degrees, I saw that I would not have to get that pipe on the Obutto, cut and welded.
It was my birthday so I bought it.
So now it's really in a perfect spot and the G25 buttons were any easy move.
Plus, now I have an armrest!
EDIT: lol, I just found it $20 cheaper at InsideSimRacing.

Thanks for the link Kiro!
Does this shifter use the neutral while racing mate?
I mean does it go into neutral in between shifts like my Actlabs shifter does, I mean like (Upshifts) 1-N-2-N-3-N-4-N-5... (Downshift) 5-N-2, or does it change gears instantly without using the Neutral?
I watched their short "shifter pattern" and "rFactor" movies, but it was very hard to catch if it does or not. I´m very interested in buying one of these shifters, but it has to go into neutral in between shifts in that case.

neutral in between shifts, plus I have 7 set for neutral and 8 set for reverse. 7 gear mods too many gears for me.

As far as I know, regarding PC games, the SST shifter is stand alone... one could step into a game pad and steer with the keyboard, while shifting gears with this shifter.. I think the uncompability Kiro mentioned with Fanatech wheel concerns to console games, as all hardaware sholbe connected to consloe trough the steering wheel..
for PCs all you need is a USB port and install the shifter driver... Should work with any other hardware, whatever it is.
Am I wrong Kiro? - yes, I can be completely mistake, Kiro must know better about it..
Anyways, happy birthday Kim! Well deserved gift you gave to yourself! My gift was to introduce it for you
Congrats mate!

oops, sry Sil, you are right.
Not having a Fanatec, I didn't look that close.
I saw some mention of it and thought I should include it. So I took that part out.
& BM, man, I would love to changeout the wheel but wow, retail is about the same price as the shifter was. I will look on ebay.

Haha yes those Momo's are pricey. But there are plenty of nice race wheels for better prices. Such as OMP and many others.

I got mine SST Lightning Shifter today and I´m more then pleased with it so far.
I only needed to plug it in and let Windows install it and then I could jump right into my car as it uses the same control settings as my old ActLabs shifter has done. That was a pleasant surprise to start with.
I immediately felt that it´s a lot more "user friendly" then my old ActLabs shifter and that the quality seams to be "Top of the line" too. The distance between the gears are quite a bit shorter too and it´s a LOT more distinct then the ActLabs shifter too which makes it easier to use. Which means that I don´t need to concentrate as much on not fookin´ up on downshifts as I obviously have been forced to do until now. That was a bit of an "awakening call"..
The only problem is that my so called "muscle memory" makes me move the stick a bit too far sideways so I´ve ended up selecting 5th instead of 3rd on upshift´s a couple of times. I had that in mind coming to the next braking point in 5th gear but as the Ol´Fart here have some probs adapting, I selected... 5th as I moved the stick too short instead and put it in the guardrails once again, thinkin´that my mechanics probably won´t be as happy as I am right now.
...
Oh well, I´ll learn fast and I actually shaved 0.8s of my PB at Interlagos after about 8 laps just now. I guess that I will have some sore muscles in my right upper body this week though as I already feel that the movement needed is a bit different, but wth.. Who cares..
