The moderators here have been kind enough to open this whole new section for the F1-75 mod, which is meant be used by those of you that want to be part of the Calluster F1-75 Team to enhance the development of the F1-75 Mod.
In other words, to turn this one man project into a real Calluster Project that hopefully will be able to turn the F1-75 Mod up to same kind of high standards that the rest of the Calluster Mods have.
And I want to Invite all of you that think that you might be able to contribute to the Project in some or any way join the Team.
....
You don´t have to be skilled at modding to join the team but it would be preferred if you´ll be able to take part in (most of) the extensive test program that we are planning do and to give feedback too.
We will of course need skilled people too as the F1-75 Mod still have some graphical flaws, like the loss of body parts on the AI/Other players cars in In-Car view, the bad fitting of the mirrors in their frames in some of the cars and the missing tachos in a couple of cars.
These are things that I´m not skilled enough to fix myself, and essential to get in order for the mod to be able to leave it´s currant Beta stage and to do a proper V.1.0 release of it.
But those of you that aren´t (skilled in that way) are just as welcome to join the team too, as we need to test the mod extensively and your feedback will be invaluable to the development of the Project.
.....
I do have a clear vision and opinion of in which direction I want to lead this Project, and where I would want it to end up. But I will take a very humble position as leader of this project, being very well aware that I both need and want your help to enhance this mod.
And as this Project now is supposed to turn into a Calluster Project and a Team effort I know the importance of listening to every Team Member´s opinions and I will do that.
That said, if any of you want to join me in creating a team that can bring this F1-75 Mod up to same kind of high standards that the rest of the Calluster Mods have.
---------
Cheers
/JC
Ps. I´ve made a quite extensive update (to say the least) for this purpose too, the V.0.97 which I have Uploaded now and that is Password Protected for single use by the team.
It´s made as a whole new Full Install, which means that it wont overwrite any of your previous files or settings and I will make a new thread where I will describe the V.0.97 Update´s new content and enhancements in a short while. Ds

maxxad have advised me to write an application form, but I don´t know how to do that..
So instead of that, perhaps you could use this example below as a template to describe yourself and how you think that you might be able to contribute to the team. It would also be helpful if you mention what kind of equipment you are using to drive when you sign up.
This so called application form is not for the purpose of me selecting people as everyone who intends to be an active member of the Team is more then welcome to join, but to give me a clue of who to ask for advice and who to ask to perform different kinds of tasks that might come up.

This is an excellent opportunity for simracers to learn the basics about modding. If a simracer only knows how to drive and nothing less, he/she is still an asset to this group because hers/his testing and analysis would help a lot. During the testing all development procedures can be followed in the forums and all steps through the development can be revealed/explained.

Might i suggest you make the mod open to all Calluster members...you could use the race server password.
You could keep a private forum while using an open to all members 'event' thread to get feedback from fun races / servers...this way you maximise the sample group and feedback while still keeping your private stuff private.
I think it's fine to form a development team but to keep the testing to a group will narrow the potential benfit of any testing.

Of course you can
And I can see the benefits of that too, but also the cons..
I actually had a discussion with maxxad about doing so this morning and he advised me not to, and he gave me some very good reasons why I should´t, and I will share a few of them with you.
There are for instance a lot of people who are just downloading files here, not being active members which will lead to the spreading of another unfinished version of the mod, and we don´t want that.
There are also the risk of mismatches for the (active) members here who doesn´t have the latest spec of the mod as it develops, which is very disturbing when you try to concentrate on driving and to feel the changes that might have been done to it.
One could of course solve that by constantly Updating the Download and setting new passwords for the test races, but then there will probably be even more unfinished version of the mod out there.. There are also the big possibility that totally unknown people will try to join the test races too as the download and password in that case would have to be public.
So all and all, taking the pros and cons by doing so into consideration, I wont.. for now.
--------------
He gave me a few other good reasons too, but I think that these will do for now, so I don´t write another way to long post here at Calluster, once again..
The V.0.97 is a very enhanced version F1-75 mod, but it still have the same basic physics as the V.0.96. And those of you that want´s to drive the F1-75 mod, but don´t want to or can join the Team for different reasons can still use the V.0.96 both off and on-line and give me feedback and suggestions too if you want to.

And if I let my mom test, I might also get feedback which ain't worth much. I personally think testers should qualify somehow to be heard by the developer. A tester should have some experience, some basic racingphysics understanding and relative analytic attributes to be able to give important feedback.
A registered tester will also most probably follow some scheduled testing procedures. Tests will also be scheduled where a bunch of registered testers join in and drive a testrace. Having other drivers in there and racing and/or possibly wrecking, might disturb the testing procedures.
After the release, we will hear what the whole rF-community will say about it, and that will include those Sunday driving teens who barely know how to toe-heel and just scream out their inner feelings about school, homework, facebook and general misery felt during driving the car.
But this is only my suggestion.
See you at Rouen for some Le Mans ala 80ies tonight.

ok... I was just wondering same stuff Sulla mentioned here. But J.C.Case and Maxx points does make a lot of sense. Apart from that I like these mod a lot, you guys gave me enough reasons to join the team. I really don´t know how usefull for such a development I can be, and this is one more point that brings me here: learn some stuff!

feedback for anything you can imagine. Not necessary accurate, but I can do give feedback. Don´t know if mod development is meant to creat sounds too, but in case it does, I would like to learn how such a process works.
